The pontoons are made of a 1000 denier fabric strengthened material that will also inflate firm 3psi also as make the ship light. There are directional strakes on the bottom to help with tracking in flat water conditions. there’s a fanny pack/drink holder on the back of the seats that can be removed for a walk on the beach. This is a terrible product for the price. The second time I used it the valve broke. I returned it to the store and they told me it was a manufactures defect. Since I bought it on sale, they would not replace/fix it. The removable floor is just plain silly it is another part of equipment that has the possible to get misplaced.

They assert it is a self bailing boat, but I found that not to be the case, I typically just pulled over and flipped it over to dump the water.

If you need something on flat water like a lake this will work fine, but I still think it is an absurd price. If you need something to take on a river or many place with a current or rapids do not buy this product, your money will be better spent on an NRS.

Sevylor’s quaility went way down. I could give it NO STARS, but the review does not let for that. Having seen the boats my friends have gotten for the same total of money, this is a complete rip off.

it is done up to class IV+ just fine. many notes:

1 The material is lasting and should hold up for many years of service.

2 Inflate the drop stiched floor to at least 6psi to avoid a wet butt, particularly if you pull out the self bailing plugs. And bring the included pressure gauge on every trip.

3 This ship rides low and due to thinner floor, you are gonna get wet, which means it is pretty stable. Plugging the bail holes will increase your load capacity. I would not load this ship with more that 400 lbs.

4 On my boat, the floor has nice ‘real’ valves and the tubes have crappy boston valves. I have seen many in stores that have all real valves. I have not had a failure yet, but I bring extras just in case. I am considering having the local shop put in all real valves.

I got this because I do many of self supported multi day river trips. it is big enough for the job and has done Desolation and the upper Green below Flaming Gorge A, B and C. Red Creek fast was at 5000 cfs because of a damn release and ripped at class IV with many tight turns and fast water. I was wet, but the ship did great.

When I go on vacation I take my XK2 and a folding sail kit from SailboatsToGo in my checked baggage. When I hit the beach I have got my own sailboat with me!

I love the XK2 for its light weight and rigidity and comfort.
